Info and FAQ'S

Where are you based and where do you travel to?

I am based in Farnborough Hampshire, where I can welcome you to my makeup studio for your trial or I can visit you in the comfort of your own home. For your wedding day, I travel to your home or venue. I cover Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire. A 20 mile round trip is free travel and over 30 miles round trip is 65p per mile. Any journey that takes longer than two hours the morning of a wedding will require an overnight stay at an additional cost. Destination Weddings are priced on request. Please get in touch for a quote.

Do I need a trial?

I would always recommend a hair and makeup trial. This is where I have the opportunity to explore whether the style you want is achievable with your hair type etc and to perfect your bridal hair and makeup design. It is important to try out different looks and make sure that you feel comfortable with what you’ve chosen. Trials also give us the chance to get to know each other so that on your wedding morning you feel relaxed in my company. Once you have decided on your final look and are completely happy with everything, I record all the products used, take photographs and make notes so that your bespoke wedding hair and makeup look can be replicated with ease. if you choose to not have a trial, I would be confident to achieve your desired look on your wedding day without one but this would be an additional cost due to extra time taken.

When should I book my trial and how long does it take?

Some brides like to have their trial early so it's something ticked off the to-do list. If you don't plan on changing your hair or needing to grow it out for a particular style then you can definitely have your trial as early as you would like. On average trials are held around 2-4 months before, once other aspects of the wedding have been organised. I do my best to work around your availability, but understandably my weekends are busy with weddings and I, therefore, try to keep trial bookings between Monday – Thursday only. I also advise that the trial is carried out during daylight hours – this way you can get a clear view of what your hair and makeup will look like on the wedding day. Trials take around 2-4 hours but ultimately it doesn't finish until you are 100% happy! It's a good idea to have a look through some hair and makeup images for inspiration prior to the trial. It's great for me to see a wedding mood board, this way I get a good feel of your wedding theme and the style of your big day!

What do I need to do to prepare for the trial?

Once you have secured you booking with me I will send you over a list of tips on how to make the most of your bridal trial. You will be able to give these a read through to provide you with some useful tips to think about and you can let me know anything you think I may find helpful.

Why should I book you as my hair and makeup artist?

I have been a Hair and Makeup artist for over 20 years and I understand how important it is to look and feel your best on your wedding day. Your wedding makeup should be about enhancing your natural beauty and not masking it. It will not only look good on camera but also to the naked eye. Your wedding hair should complement your overall wedding theme and suit your hair type. Your wedding day makeup will stay put all day long and your hair will be dance floor ready!
I like to show your Maid of Honour how to take out your veil and correct any hair that's moved, so you know your hair will be perfect for the evening!
All brides have their own uniqueness and wedding style and with my years of experience, you will be in good hands. I am a cruelty-free artist and only use products that have not been tested on animals.
I like to think of myself as an extremely calm and collected artist and I have a friendly bubbly personality. My commitment to you is that your wedding morning will be a fun, exciting, a calm experience and you will leave ready for the ceremony looking fabulous and totally ready for your big day ahead!

How much do you charge for wedding Hair and Makeup?

You can find my 2025 prices here. Your quote is worked out at the trial and this is payable a week prior to your wedding day. There are some additional extras, travel expenses (65p per mile) early arrival (prior to 7am £30) split location fee £50 and accommodation costs if required. I offer group discounts of 10%. There is a £50 deposit to secure your date

What is in your hair and makeup kit?

My kit is cruelty-free but I can assure you this does compromise the quality!
So many well-known brands are moving over to the cruelty-free market which is great news! I use a variety of makeup brands that I know and trust to achieve a flawless look and a base that leaves your skin still being able to breathe! I keep my kit up to date and always thoroughly cleaned and sterilized after each client.

When do I pay the final balance?

At your trial a final price will be worked out. The deposit taken to hold your date is deducted from the balance and the final amount is payable a week before your wedding date. You can pay using bank transfer or card machine (fee added) or cash.(Please refer to Terms and Conditions)

Do you use false lashes?

I can supply and apply lashes for you on the day or I can recommend where to get your lashes lifted and tinted, ( IG -  @the.aesthetics.clinic ) or lash extensions ( IG - @sophsbeautylodge)

I like the look of a natural set of lashes for your wedding day. It adds the finishing touch to your makeup look. Its good to trial them out before your wedding day to see if you like them.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have business insurance with Salon Gold and fully covered.
